I’m at a loss and have tried both HDMI 1 & 3 as 2 is my only ARC for sound bar. Sometimes it fixed itself, others it requires restarting a game or restarting computer or unplugging. I get up to approx an hour of uninterrupted entertainment then one of the above issues arises. To further complicate things I have a JBL sound bar connected to HDMI arc and it will sometimes work properly other times I can’t be bothered and will just use TV sound. I have not had the same issue using the same cable to connect to a computer monitor. From what I have found Apple indicates that the HDMI supports 1080p/60Hz, UHD/30Hz, and 4K/24Hz but there is no indicaiton. I know I can use the Thunderbolt with a Mini-DP to DP cable, but I specifically want to know about the HDMI. I need to know if the HDMI supports supports 2560x1440 (WQHD) at 60Hz. TV works as a display but intermittently will cut out completely, cut in and out really quickly, cut in and out to static, cut to black screen but sound still projects from TV. I have the base model 13' 2014 Macbook Pro. I have an Ivansky Thunderbolt to HDMI cable (which I just replaced because I thought it was a faulty cable). TV works as a display but intermittently will cut. Using my 2016 LG smart TV as a monitor for gaming and super bowl. In the case of a functional part, it has been fully tested prior to putting in stock and is guaranteed to be fully functional. This is a used part from a recycled computer. I understand there is a significant different speed/performance wise between both. So if is there any sort of box/adapter around so I can also get Thunderbolt 3 it would be very helpful.
